Fishing for tarpon at night in Islamorada

Night Time Tarpon fishing in Islamorada can be exceptional in the months from April to July. Some would even argue that Islamorada has the Best Tarpon Fishing in the Florida Keys.

Most of the tarpon fishing at night is done with live bait such as mullet or crabs. We also use artificial lures or fly fishing when fishing for tarpon at night by dock lights. On most night time tarpon trips we will usually leave the dock before sunset so as a bonus you get to watch some of the most majestic sunsets the florida keys has to offer.

There are many ways to fish for Tarpon them whether it be conventional, spinning tackle or fly fishing gear. One of my favorite methods has to be sight fishing them in the bright lights while fly fishing or using light tackle spinning gear. This is a great way to catch your first tarpon especially if you’re a beginner fly fisherman.
